Digital Media

We also got a digital Media project at the end of the semester. I decided to continue with my pussy riot idea. The Womens group Femin can be pictured all over the world protesting to free pussy riot. The are known for their signature pink balaclava and topless bodies with slogans painted across them. I decided to do my own take on that making fun of to once again highlight my point.

Pussy riot

I also decided to look at the pussy riot debacle. they are a lesbian band from russia who have been persecuted and not released. I decided to do a print about them taking the piss out of lesbianism and the protesters who are trying to free them. I did this in protest to Russias anti gay laws.

Silkscreen

Here are some of my research drawings for silk. Im making a print about brendan smyth the paedophile priest. I find the sex abuse scandals horrifying and here are some drawings i did for it.

Protest and Humour

We got a new brief for silkscreen. Protest and humour. I think I will keep doing what im doing and Im happy with that. My work is protesting agaisnt attrocities by sattirising them and making fun of them. I think personally my crassness and black humour in the prints makes the topic they are about more memorable.
